It is a healthy, quick and simple Summer Fresh Fruit salad that everyone will love.
Every one of us knows how to make a fruit salad, it’s just that we add different dressings to it or not. I make this fruit salad during summer but it is great any time of the year. It’s lovely served as it is or with some ice cream. Fruit salad as a dessert cannot go wrong especially when everyone looks for a healthy option.
Fruit salad and ice cream in Sri Lanka is a popular dessert in every household. We get lots of tropical fruits around the year and they are just delicious as they are. I grew up eating fruits mostly as a dessert. Since there is a variety you never get tired of it. Few of my favorites are banana, mango, guava, pineapple, and passion fruit. Fruit salad back home is dressed with a little sugar and lime juice and on special occasions, my mum adds a little orange fruit cordial ?
Now the recipe…
It is simple to make just like any other fruit salad. Cut the fruits into the desired size (I did a medium dice) add the vanilla, honey, to the orange juice and mix well. Adding honey is optional if you are serving it with ice cream leave the honey out. Drizzle the orange and vanilla mixture on top of the fruits and toss before you serve. You also could use seasonal fresh fruits of your choice to make this fruit salad.
